Microblading Healing

Microblading Healing

Throughout the healing process, you must be very careful to follow the instructions provided in the care card you will receive after your appointment.

Day 1: Your eyebrows are bold, fresh and brand new.

Day 2-4: During this period, your brows will appear darker and thicker. Do not worry! They will lighten up.

Day 5-8: During this period your brows may be scabbing and flaking off. DO NOT try to remove or peel the scabs and run the risk of removing pigment.

Day 9-10: The scabs on your brows may have completely fallen off. The color will appear faint, as your eyebrows are still healing underneath the surface of your skin.

Day 11-28: Your eyebrows are healing and reappearing; they may appear patchy. It will look incomplete in this phase of healing, but most of the patchiness will fill in as they continue to heal. Some areas on your brows may heal lighter, and those areas will be adjusted during your follow up.

After Touch-Up: Brows are perfected, and any necessary adjustments have been made. You will need to come back for your annual color boost 12-18 months from your initial appointment.

Is scabbing normal after the first visit?

The simple answer–yes. Scabbing is a normal part of the healing process.  Scabbing generally starts around day 5 and continues up until day 10. As the scabs fall off naturally, your brows may appear patchy. But don’t worry, this is only temporary.

If any pigment is lost after the initial appointment, it will be reapplied during your follow up. After the initial session, your brows will heal 30-40% lighter, and any adjustments will be made during your 6-8 week follow up.

If you're reading this I know you may be new to microblading, and that's totally ok! Please note that a touch up is ABSOLUTELY necessary to ensure desired results. Scabbing and brow lightening is totally normal during the healing process after your initial session. Unlike a tattoo, I am only entering the first layer of your skin (the epidermis) which is why you will need yearly touch ups to refresh the color.

It is VERY important to follow post procedure instructions such as:

When showering, make sure to avoid the brow area for the first 7 days. When cleaning or washing face, make sure to clean around the brow area.
Do not submerge them in water, swim or use a sauna for the first 14 days.
Absolutely no excessive sweating (from work/exercise) for 7-10 days while healing.
No facials, chemical treatments, and/or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks after the procedure.
Avoid direct sun exposure for the first 4 weeks after procedure. If you must be outside, please wear a hat or visor.
New skin forming causes your brows to appear lighter during the early stages of healing. Do not rub, pick at scabs or scratch the brow area while healing.

DRY HEAL. Do not rub, touch, or wet your brows for at least 10 days) you may wipe them with a clean wipe if necessary. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and removal of pigment. Exfoliation and scabbing of the top layer of the brow in normal from day 5-10.
